Study Skills Toolkit


This Blackboard course has been developed by the University's eLanguages unit and Student Services.

It comprises a set of short self-contained interactive 'learning objects' on specific topics - with the emphasis on learning by doing, so expect lots of activities, exercises and quizzes.

How to enrol on the Study Skills Toolkit

All students are automatically enrolled in this course. Look for the link to Study Skills Toolkit in the My Courses area of your Blackboard homepage.

Tutors can manually enrol themselves by following this procedure.


Overview of sections content

A list of the topics available can be seen on the e-languages website.

To view the interactive materials click on the link to Learning materials on the left side of the Blackboard screen - this will take you directly to a set of skills folders containing items of learning material. Select a skill folder and then choose an item of learning material to open. Click on the title of the item to open it.

Please note that some of these interactive learning materials contain audio files and activities built in Flash. Your computer will need to have Flash 6 installed and you will also need to be connected to a headset for some of the listening materials.
